Thanks to the generous donations from our employees and the Family Office, together with the Pantaleon Foundation, we managed to raise funds for the donation of 305 backpacks with basic school supplies to students at the Tarde Linda School. The purpose of our corporate volunteering activity was to support children and young adults so that they had the required materials to begin the 2024 school year, which beganon February 20, as we believe that education is a fundamental pillar for the development of our country.
During November and December of 2023, The Pantaleon Group and the Pantaleon Foundation launched a volunteer campaign called “Christmas of Dreams,” through which various activities were carried out to encourage employees to donate “Opportunity Backpacks.” The goal was to raise Q30,000 to achieve the donation of 300 backpacks for the 300 students at the Tarde Linda School in Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa. In December 2023, we surpassed that goal by raising funds for 315 backpacks. The Pantaleon Group and Pantaleon Foundation employees took part in a corporate activity where, along with their families, they assembled the Opportunity Backpacks and wrote a letter to the children of the Tarde Linda School to encourage them to make the most of their studies.
In 2024, we began organizing the delivery to the Tarde Linda School with the school’s principal and community leaders, whose support was integral to making the donation possible. The Tarde Linda School is located in Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, an important area for our operations, as several employees reside in this community. The delivery ceremony was attended by the school’s teachers, the 305 benefitted children, community leaders, the municipal mayor, various members of the Herrera Family, and employees from Corporate and Pantaleon Mill.
