At Pantaleon, we reaffirm our commitment to the development of the countries where we are operate. This is why we are supporting the communities surrounding our operations in Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua and Brazil in the face of the situation presented by COVID-19.
In Guatemala we donated more than 70 thousand gallons of alcohol to the Public Health System, PNC, Conred and the country’s municipalities, we also delivered for the fifth time alcohol to 91 communities and 14 municipalities . Similarly, we provided 24 health centers and municipal employees with 666 kits with PPE and 280 gallons of alcohol, in a coordinated effort at the industry level by Fundazúcar.
In Nicaragua, we are implementing an education and prevention campaign for COVID in which masks, alcohol, informational posters are handed out and there is constant educational material through loud speakers informing citizens about the virus and ways to prevent its spread. Recently, we delivered these materials in three communities, benefitting over 832 homes. With the support of community leaders, we are delivering materials home to home. In the third phase of this campaign, 2,500 masks, 832 liters of liquid alcohol and 832 informational posters were delivered.
In Mexico, Pantaleon continues to support the families of the Nido Águila students and the medical personnel of local institutions with PPE in response to the pandemic, and in Brazil more than 8 thousand liters of alcohol have been donated.
