At Grupo Pantaleon, we are proud to announce Diego Herrera has been appointed President of the World Sugar Research Organization (WSRO) for the 2025–2027 term. The appointment took place during the WSRO General Assembly, held as part of the organization’s annual meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico.

This important appointment, made on behalf of Grupo Pantaleon, highlights the leadership and trajectory of Guatemala’s sugarcane sector in international industry forums. The WSRO plays a key role in advancing technical and scientific research on sugarcane, and this presidency represents a valuable opportunity to elevate the voice of our region on the global stage.

We are also honored to highlight the participation of Inés Amenábar, Sustainability Manager and Chief of Staff at Grupo Pantaleon, and Luis Fernando Salazar Rosas, International Affairs Coordinator at Asazgua, who represented Guatemala and our industry at this important global gathering.

We extend our congratulations to Diego Herrera on this new role, which will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the technical and scientific leadership of our region in the global sugar industry.
